Biscuit size chart
The sizes of wood biscuits for a plate (biscuit) joiner, and how deep the joiner cuts for each. The sizes are Lamello's system, so its catalogue and its joiner's manual are the authority here. Sizes are in millimetres as Lamello prints them, with inches to the nearest sixteenth.
| Size | Length × width × thickness | Cutting depth |

The cutting depths are the stops on Lamello's own joiners (its operating instructions list 8.0, 10.0 and 12.3 mm). Other brands' joiners mark their own stops; check yours. #0, #10 and #20 are cut with Lamello's standard 100 × 4 × 22 mm cutter (diameter × width × bore). H9 biscuits are thinner and need a separate 78 × 3 × 22 mm cutter.
Which size for my stock?
The Lamello documents we read give the sizes and depths but no rule for which size suits which board thickness, so this page doesn't give one either. A biscuit has to fit inside the board with wood left on both faces, and the larger sizes reach deeper into the edge. Cut a test slot in scrap before a glue-up. How the joint works: biscuit joints.
